A cookie is a small text file, stored on your computer and containing information. Cookies are used for technical reasons to improve the website for the user and to give the visitor access to different functions.

There are two types of cookies.
One type is saved for a longer period on the computer. It is for example used to indicate what is new since the user last visited the website. The other type of cookies is called session cookie. During the time a user is visiting and surfing on a website, this cookie is temporarely stored in the computer memory for example to remember the language the user has selected. Session cookies are not stored for a long time in the computer, they disapper when the user close the web reader.
